Tri 101
Train for the 2nd Annual 36 North Triathlon
Sunday, June 20th 2010 at Tanglewood Park
(300 meter swim, 12 mi bike, 5K run)

What does a Tri 101 participant get in training?
- A complete 8 week structured training schedule including group practices and individual workouts.
- Coached workouts 2 – 3 times per week (4 swim clinics, weekly run clinics, weekly group ride)
- Coaches for Tri 101 are experts in their various disciplines and will work to make you the best overall triathlete that you can be! You will have access to these coaches through weekly practices, e-mail, and in-store interaction.
- Coached workouts are your key to success in training plan. Workouts will be held:
- Bike Rides Mondays at 6pm: The cycling workouts will include group rides of increasing length, brick workouts, and information about bike safety/maintenance. Most group rides will begin at CG Hill Park near Regan High School.
- Swim Practices Alternating Wednesdays at 7pm: Participants will be divided into 2 groups for swim clinics and you will receive a training schedule detailing when your group is scheduled for swim practice. Drills you learn during the swim clinics will be included in your individual workouts.
- Run Workouts Thursdays at 6pm: Your run workouts will include hill work, speed work, form drills, and a course preview of the run portion of the race course. The majority of your run practices will begin at Fleet Feet Sports.
- You will receive a technical training shirt
- Training will include educational clinics as a part of your coached practices with a focus on: Bike Gears & Maintenance, Nutrition Planning, Race Day Prep & Transition Set-up, Gear Up for Tri Night at Fleet Feet Sports
- Participants will have access to a dedicated website with training information, calendar, and up-to-date information
What does a Tri 101 Participant receive on race day?
- Race week participants will have:
- Pre-race Pep Rally Party
- Race Day Athlete’s Tent Access Exclusive to Participants in Tri101
- Dedicated set up area in transition
- Start time at the beginning of the 36 North race before the general public
- Post-race Celebration Party
Mark Your Calendars Now:
- Training begins the week of April 26th.
- Practices are held Mondays at 6pm, Alternating Wednesdays at 7pm, and Thursdays at 6pm
- The informational kick off meeting will be held Wednesday, April 14th at 7:30pm.
- Race day is Sunday, June 20th at Tanglewood Park.
How to get started:
Triathlon Training Programs are open to the first 100 male and female participants. Must be 18 years or older to register.
Program fee is $150 (does not include race fee)
At registration, participants should be able to swim 1 length of the pool and ride 2 miles on a bike.
